Weekend and Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Of course I need to post a weekend update since it’s a Monday morning. Friday night Jace and I went to dinner at Chili’s. When we got there we ran into my mom, Aunt Sharon, cousin Krista, good friend Jen and Kami. They were all going to see the Hunger Games. I haven’t read the book and plan to read it in Louisiana during the races in April so I didn’t want to go see it with them but Jace was a good sport and agreed to have dinner with all the girls :) It was fun to see everyone and dinner was super yummy. I love everything at Chili’s!  We went home afterwards and just laid around and watched movies at home. Then Saturday Jace got up early to go dyno some bikes while I went and ran some errands. That afternoon I also had a bridal shower for a good friend from high school, Kaycee. It was great to see everyone and catch up. The rest of the day Jace and I worked on getting the yard looking decent since it was such a nice day out. Then we went out to my sister-in-law’s Figure competition that she has been preparing for the last 6+ months? It was pretty insane to see everyone there but she ended up taking first place for her division which was pretty awesome. You can check out her blog with all her updates/progress on there. After the competition we went to dinner with her, my brother in law and our friends Jedd and Amy. It was a great night out.

Then Sunday we went to church and when we came home I made some dinner to take over to the lady I visit teach who recently had a baby boy. That night we went to my mom’s for dinner and since I told her I would bring dessert I made some chocolate covered strawberries. I took white chocolate and died it orange so it would look like carrots for Easter but the orange didn’t come out quite how I wanted it to. It was a little more peach looking but they still tasted yummy! The week should be busy so already looking forward to next weekend!

My chocolate covered Strawberries-some turned out prettier than others!

  1. So I found your blog link from Ali Howard's blog. I love it! I'm going to have to try some of the recipes you post. I don't mind making dinner but I struggle on figuring out what to make. You and Jace have so much fun- it sounds like the weekends Deven and I used to have- although I will admit they're getting more fun as Alaina gets older. My blog is private, but if you want an invite just email me.

    1. Haha everything I cook is pretty easy-nothing to fancy, I'm not that great a cook yet :) But our weekends feel pretty repetitive at times but I like to write it down so its like keeping a journal! But yes send me your blog invite I would love to follow it :)
