Texas Friends and Wedding Receptions

Another crazy weekend has come and gone. Thursday night we went to the Doctors office since Jace has been fighting a cold for 2+ weeks now. He fought me for awhile on insisting he is and I quote, “Like a rock…” Well the rock finally agreed he felt like crap and needed some meds so we got him some antibiotics for a lung infection. Its been helping and hopefully he will be all better by tomorrow for Lake Powell. After the doctors we ran up to my mother-in-laws house to help her get things ready for Carly and Jake’s wedding (Jace’s step sister) that was Saturday.
This was Jace arguing with me that he didn't need to be at the doctors office...in the end I was right though.

Then Friday night I was able to go meet my long lost Texas friends Juls and Jess LaRue for dinner. Jess is moving to Portland and her sister was driving up with her and since they were stopping in Salt Lake, we were able to go to dinner. We laughed and talked for hours about how much fun we had growing up and what we were all up to now. After dinner they came to the house to chat with Mama Jeans (aka my mom) and dad. It was really great to see them for a little bit. Then Saturday morning and afternoon was crazy. I ran to Costco to get ready for our trip and also tried cleaning the house and getting the trailer ready. Then that evening we went to Carly and Jake’s wedding reception which turned out really beautiful.

Sunday we went to church and worked on getting more stuff ready to leave tomorrow for Lake Powell. Jace’s dad and older brother Jaren left Sunday so will go down Tuesday night to meet up with them. It should be a nice relaxing break hopefully.

Father's Day Weekend and More Concrete

Well I feel like the weeks keep getting shorter and busier. This past weekend was no exception. Monday afternoon this past week we had 10 yards of concrete delivered and poured with the help of Jake, Russ and Denis. Then Friday morning we had the last 12 yards brought in. Between Jace, Jake and I we were able to get it all finished that day. I ended up taking the day off since it was late afternoon by the time we finished and we had to run down to Provo to pickup the Ford (again). Recall this post where Jace had swapped motors once already and it was still having problems. Well they looked at it since it was under warranty and told us the motor was having problems but we would have to pull it (again) and swap it (again). By we, I mean poor Jace…So we picked up the motor Friday and then went to see The 5 Year Engagement when we got back. It was pretty funny but a little slow in some parts. Then Saturday morning we got up and while Jace worked on pulling the motor I cleaned, did some laundry and yard work. Saturday was my work Lagoon day so we headed over there that afternoon and went to the work picnic party then hung out at the pool. It was a nice relaxing day, other than I got popped on by a bird. Laying by the pool minding my own business and a bird drop’s his nasty business right on my stomach. Jace was mad I got up too fast to run into the pool and wash off before he could get a picture but it was nasty.

After the Lagoon day we just finished working on the truck and  ran some errands and relaxed a little the rest of the night. Sunday we had church and it was obviously father’s day. We had dinner over at my parents then swung by Jace’s dad’s house to see him for awhile. Were grateful to have great parents and I’m not sure what I would do without family so close. It’s really nice being within 15 minutes of everyone. Well now were onto another busy week (Jace is shooting to have the motor swapped and back up and running again by this Thursday-so much work!) all while we’re trying to get ready to leave for Lake Powell a week from Tuesday.

Weekend Update and Concrete

Another weekend update. Friday night we had date night and went to see What to Expect When Your Expecting. I liked it and thought it was funny, Jace said it was ok. After the movie we went downtown to dinner at Blue Iguana then walked around City Creek since Jace hadn’t been yet. It was nice to just hang out and relax without any projects to work on for the night. Then Saturday we cleaned the house and mowed the yard and worked on prepping the side of the house for the RV pad we are pouring today :) I’m pretty excited will be getting some concrete to park the toy hauler and everything else on the side of the house so we don’t have to park it in front anymore!
Friday night at City Creek

That night we ended up taking our little nephews Owen and Noah to the dollar theater to see The Lorax, it was defiantly a little kids show but still kinda cute and they did awesome and sat through the whole movie (and chowed down on a whole bag of popcorn). Then Sunday of course we had church in the morning and then just relaxed most the day. Later in the evening we finished getting the side prepped for everything and now the day is upon us. 4pm today we have concrete being delivered so pretty excited to see how tonight goes! (I feel so old being excited for concrete…)

Owen and Noah after the movie. I tried to get them to stand together and say cheese but it wasn't happening so this is what I got-they look confused. But they are still pretty cute :)

Boating and Mechanical Bull

Well the past weekend was a little crazy. Friday we had Rocky Anderson’s memorial service which was really nice. It was great to hear all the wonderful memories everyone has of Rocky and he will defiantly be missed. After the memorial service we went to Apollo Burger for dinner with Jace’s brothers and cousin and their families. The rest of the night we just hung out at the house relaxing.
Jace and I at Rocky's memorial service.

Then Saturday morning Jace got up and started checking everything on the boat before we took it out that afternoon while I cleaned up the house, finished up laundry and ran to the store. We ended up getting on the lake later that afternoon with Jace’s younger brother Jedd and his wife. We just hung out driving around (wanted to make sure the boat still worked this year J) After the lake we came home and cleaned up then went to see Battleship. I must admit I didn’t really want to see it but it was much better than I expected. Maybe my expectations were so low that it made it seem really good but I ended up liking it. After our movie we headed over to our friend’s Jeremy and Heidi’s house. Heidi graduated from college (I’m very jealous-only 2 more years and I will be there!) so they rented a mechanical bull to celebrate. It was hilarious to watch everyone attempt the bull. It was defiantly entertaining so thanks Jeremy and Heidi for the fun night.
First time out on the lake this year!
Jace and I on the bull haha-since they were phone pictures alot of them are fuzzy!
Jake and Marci's turn
and of course Jedd and Bonnie

Sunday we had church and then relaxed most the day. (May I also add that we had 3 kids move into our class so we now have 13 kids in our class...it might be getting a little crazy somedays in there). Later that night we went on the Farmington Trail behind Lagoon with Jace’s family and had a picnic. (Thanks Janalyn and Russ). It was fun but we had to hurry back home since we had a youth conference meeting that night. By the end of the meeting when we got home we were both ready to crash. Now I’m not ready for the week to start again but I’m glad its really feeling like summer and I’m excited for all the trips and stuff coming up in the next few months.
